Happy new year! Here’s to a brand new year with loads of exciting projects and music in the pipe line.
Firstly with Skinny Lister we will heading out to the US in Feb/March to finish off touring the “Devil, Heart & The Fight” album campaign. This is then quickly flanked by another week long trip a month later in April to play the Flogging Molly Salty dog cruise from Miami to Bahamas, and then finally a week long run in Germany. That will mark the end of the album campaign, and can mean only 1 thing, time to start writing and recording the next one, album 4! This will take place over the summer, with a view to be releasing it through Xtra Mile Recordings in early 2019.
I also have another project in the melting pot and in it’s infancy, called ‘Loose Teeth’ which will be writing and recording music throughout the year, for potential release sometime this year, so look out for that.
There will also be a bunch of summer festivals to play, in between recording including Download Festival France, and continuing work on our new festival themed function band ‘Dirty Weekend’, as well as offering and providing drum lessons to my current students, as well as anyone else interested in taking up the drums or continuing their learning of the instrument.
So it’s going to be another busy year of music for me, so here is to a great year and being blessed to be able to do what I love for a living! Thom.x
2017 has been a busy year, and to round it off we have released a deluxe version of “The Devil, The Heart & The Fight” which includes our Christmas single “Christmas Calls”. We have also been touring around Europe and the UK in support of the release on Xtra Mile Recordings.
You can watch the video for “Christmas Calls” here:
Currently I am on tour across the UK with Skinny Lister & Beans On Toast, on the “Double Trouble” co-headline tour, then 2018 sees us head back to the US for our last tour of the “Devil Heart Fight” album before we start work on the next album, album 4, watch this space for future updates..
2017 Is already shaping up to be a busy year of touring with Skinny Lister. January saw us supporting The Dropkick Murphys around Europe and now next month we are off to the US to support Flogging Molly for 2 weeks across the country, see the dates below.
We are then straight into our own headline UK tour in April, followed by the festival season and then another headline tour of our own across Europe and Scandinavia. All the dates are shown below.
Kicking off 2017 in style, with one of my biggest tours to date, supporting Dropkick Murphys across Europe in January. This tour includes a date at Brixton Academy in London, which I am super excited about as this has always been a dream to play on that stage!
Today sees the release of the brand new Skinny Lister album ‘The Devil, The Heart & The Fight’. Written whilst on tour with Frank Turner around the USA, UK and Europe last and this year, and recorded in between tours and the festival season, it is the 3rd album from the band and my first album recording with the band on drums.
Released worldwide on Xtra Mile Recordings today, you can purchase the record through any of these links, and on all formats, CD / LP / DL.
It’s that time again, going state side and this time we are out on our own with the brilliant Beans on Toast and Will Varley in tow. We’re starting in Florida and taking in Flogging Molly’s Salty dog cruise to the Bahamas, which sounds like a crazy drunken boat trip with Rancid, Frank Turner, Fishbone and many others! Also we are hitting up Toronto in Canada and some of the usual hot spots for us in Chicago, Pittsburgh & Cambridge on this 3 week tour.
Kicking off 2016 with a massive European tour, yeah why not? This January I’m taking in the freezing cold weather and snowy European cities of Holland, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. This is the last leg with Frank and the crew, and the wonderful Will Varley. So huge thanks for taking us around, the USA, UK and now Europe, it’s been a blast and a pleasure to be on the tours, onwards and upwards, cheers guys!
It’s been 2 weeks now on tour in the U.S. with Skinny Lister. We spent our first week mainly doing our own headline shows and also taking in an awesome slot at Riot Fest in Chicago. Now we have joined up with Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls and will be supporting them around the USA for the next 5 weeks. We also have Beans on Toast on the bill every night, so its a full English breakfast, lunch and dinner for the Americans! Here are my 1st two weeks as a photo diary:
So festival season is now upon us and things are hotting up quickly. The last few months have been very busy, after my trip to SXSW and then touring with Chuck Ragan, I had 2 weeks off then straight into another month long UK tour. Now a few weeks into festival season having already enjoyed some great shows at Greenfield in Switzerland and looking forward to Reading & Leeds, and a number of festies across Europe, I now have some new exciting touring news. Skinny Lister will be supporting Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls across the entire United States of America! Dates are over 2 months, September & October and we will be visiting both coasts, all the dates are below:
I have just arrived back from a 3 week intensive touring schedule (24 shows in 25 days) where I was lucky enough to attend South by South West or SXSW in Austin Texas. It’s the largest music industry festival event in the world, and is a bit like Glastonbury festival being dumped right in the middle of a huge city. What a fantastic festival with a wealth of fantastic bands from around the globe the only trouble is the musician is an after thought with record labels, management and anyone else important taking the limelight. However I had a brilliant time and my Skinny Lister schedule is below:
It was then straight onto a European tour after SXSW supporting Chuck Ragan & The Camaraderie. Beginning in Scotland we travelled all over Europe; UK, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. What a wonderful group of guys and a pleasure to support them around Europe!
Music video for new single from Skinny Lister ‘Trouble on Oxford Street’. Catch us live on tour across the UK in 2015, and new album release on Xtra Mile Recordings ‘Down on Deptford Broadway’ in April ’15. More info at www.skinnylister.com
Just completed my first ever tour of Japan last week and I had an absolute blast! 4 Shows over a week with Skinny Lister, taking in 3 Club Quattro’s in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya and finishing it with a bang at Asigiri Jam Festival beneath the slopes of Mount Fuji. Huge thanks to Uncle Owen for putting the record out and all the guys there for their help and hospitality.
I am very pleased to announce that Skinny Lister have signed to Xtra Mile Recordings in preparation for a new album release in Spring 2015. We have a bunch of UK dates in October where the new album will be played in full, along with a slot at the legendary Reeperbahn Festival this week. UK dates are below, full story here:
June has been an incredible month, completed my first ever tour of the USA and played at Glastonbury festival, both in my top 3 musical career achievements!
The tour was predominately on the east coast of the US, and took in 15 shows over 3 weeks.
Including shows at major US festivals Summerfest & Bonaroo. As well as visiting, Chicago, Atlanta, New York, Boston, Charlotte, Cincinnati and many others!
Then straight home to the UK and directly to Glastonbury, where I played my biggest show to date on the Avalon stage!
June is an exciting & busy month as I will be heading off on my first US tour with new band Skinny Lister. Its a headline tour taking in Chicago, New York, Boston & Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester to name just a few, full list of dates are below.
Then to top it all off we’re straight off to Glastonbury to play the Avalon stage on Sat 28th June.
Freshly signed to BMG Chrysalis/Auditorius Publishing I am jetting off to Berlin this weekend to play a show with Californian/Brighton based singer songwriter Ed Prosek. I will be working with Ed full time now, and currently working on double A side single for release later this year, so watch this space.
